Ingredients
Scale
For the Turkey Burgers:
- 1 pound ground turkey (85% lean, 15% fat)
- ¼ cup finely chopped Italian parsley
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons very finely diced red onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
For Serving:
- 4 burger buns (sesame seed or brioche)
- ½ cup tzatziki sauce
- ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 tomato, sliced
- ½ cucumber, sliced
- ¼ red onion, sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
Instructions
- Prepare the tzatziki sauce and refrigerate until ready to use. Homemade or store-bought both work well.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, parsley, dill, oregano, red onion, garlic, feta cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ½-inch thick.
- Press a small indentation into the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Do not press down on the burgers while cooking, as this can cause them to lose moisture.
- Assemble the burgers by layering lettuce, turkey patties, tzatziki sauce, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions on toasted buns.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
- Use 85% lean ground turkey for the juiciest burgers.
- Make the tzatziki up to 2 days ahead for easy meal prep.
- Create an indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing.
- Toast the buns for added texture and flavor.
- Leftover patties can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
- For a low-carb option, serve in lettuce wraps instead of buns.
