Ingredients
1.5 tbsp olive oil
1.5 tbsp butter
1 onion, chopped
1 cup carrots, diced
1 cup celery, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1.5 lb ground turkey
1.25 tsp salt
1 tsp Italian seasoning
12 oz farfalle pasta
2 cups chicken broth
2 cups milk
1 cup peas
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion, diced carrots, and diced celery. Sauté for about 2 minutes until slightly softened.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey, salt, and Italian seasoning. Cook over medium-high heat for 5–7 minutes, breaking into crumbles, until no longer pink and lightly browned.
- Add uncooked farfalle pasta, chicken broth, milk, and bay leaf. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat to medium, cover, and simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
- Stir in peas and black pepper. Remove from heat, cover, and let rest for 3–5 minutes.
- Remove bay leaf before serving.
Notes
- Stir occasionally while simmering to prevent sticking.
- If sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of milk or broth.
- For extra richness, use whole milk.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Add a splash of milk when reheating.
