Description

These Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken Tenders are juicy, tender, and bursting with sweet and tangy flavor. Marinated in a blend of Dijon mustard, honey, fresh rosemary, and lemon juice, then grilled to perfection and brushed with an extra layer of honey mustard glaze, they’re perfect for weeknight dinners, meal prep, or summer barbecues.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup coarse ground Dijon mustard
  • ½ shallot, finely diced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • pounds chicken tenderloins
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • Additional salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, shallot, honey, olive oil, rosemary, lemon juice, kosher salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Reserve half of the honey mustard mixture in the refrigerator for serving later.
  3. Place the chicken tenderloins in a large zip-top bag or bowl. Pour the remaining marinade over the chicken and coat well.
  4. Marinate for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours in the refrigerator.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
  6. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the used marinade.
  7. Brush the chicken with canola oil and lightly season with salt and pepper.
  8. Grill the chicken for about 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Brush the reserved honey mustard sauce over the chicken during the last 1–2 minutes of grilling.
  10. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • Always reserve part of the marinade before adding the raw chicken for a safe finishing glaze.
  • Marinating overnight gives the best flavor, but avoid marinating longer than 8 hours.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer to prevent overcooking.
  • Leftovers are delicious in salads, wraps, sandwiches, or grain bowls.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
