Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup chopped dill pickles
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 (1.5-ounce) packet ranch seasoning
- 1/4 cup pickle juice
- Fresh dill, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
- Add the panko breadcrumbs and toast for 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently, until golden brown.
- Reserve a small amount of the toasted panko and chopped pickles for topping.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining toasted panko, chopped pickles, sour cream, ranch seasoning, and pickle juice.
- Stir until smooth and fully combined.
- Transfer to a serving bowl.
- Top with the reserved chopped pickles, toasted panko, and fresh dill if serving immediately.
- Serve with potato chips, crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
- For the best texture, add the reserved panko topping just before serving.
- Chill for 30 minutes before serving for even more flavor.
- Dill pickles provide the classic fried pickle taste, but spicy pickles work well too.
- If making ahead, store the dip without toppings and garnish just before serving.
- Greek yogurt can replace part of the sour cream for a lighter version.
