½ tsp chili powder

½ tsp ground cumin
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
-
8 small flour or corn tortillas
-
Cooking spray or neutral oil for brushing
-
Optional toppings: cilantro, sour cream, avocado, extra cheese
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease it.
-
In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheese, salsa, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
-
Warm the tortillas in the microwave for 20 seconds or heat them briefly in a skillet until pliable.
-
Add 2–3 tablespoons of filling to one side of each tortilla and roll tightly.
-
Place taquitos seam-side down on the baking sheet. Lightly brush or spray with oil.
-
Bake for 15–20 minutes or until crispy and golden.
-
For extra crispiness, broil on high for 1–2 minutes.
-
Air Fryer Option: Cook at 400°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
Notes
For creamier filling, add an extra tablespoon of salsa.
Corn tortillas may crack—double-wrap them or warm very well.
These freeze beautifully before baking—perfect for meal prep.
Adjust spice level using mild, medium, or hot salsa.
