For the Creamy Asiago Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)

  • ½ cup chicken broth

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)

  • 1 cup grated Asiago cheese

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Season evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

  2. Sear the Chicken:
    In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F). Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Sauce:
    In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth and scrape the bottom. Stir in cream, Dijon mustard (if using), salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  4. Add the Cheese:
    Gradually stir in grated Asiago cheese until melted and smooth.

  5. Combine and Finish:
    Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over top, and simmer 2–3 more minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Asiago for the best creamy texture.

  • Sub in Parmesan if Asiago isn’t available.
