Description

This easy Crab Rangoon Dip is everything you love about the classic takeout appetizer in a warm, creamy, cheesy baked dip. Made with real crab, cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, and savory seasonings, it’s the perfect party appetizer for game day, holidays, potlucks, or any gathering. Serve it hot with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or crispy wonton chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 8 oz canned real crab meat, drained
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (or lemon juice)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, plus more for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Fold in ¾ cup mozzarella, ¼ cup Parmesan, crab meat, and chopped chives.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish or pie plate.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh chives and serve immediately with crackers, toasted baguette slices, tortilla chips, pita chips, or crispy wonton chips.

Notes

  • Let the cream cheese soften before mixing for the smoothest texture.
  • Drain the crab meat well to avoid excess moisture.
  • Freshly shredded mozzarella melts better than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Lemon juice can be substituted for lime juice.
  • Add extra red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce if you like more heat.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
