Description
This Texas Roadhouse Smothered Chicken is rich, cheesy, and incredibly satisfying. Juicy chicken breasts are pan-seared, then smothered in a creamy Jack cheese sauce with garlic, paprika, and a hint of butter. It’s the ultimate comfort food you can make at home in just 30 minutes!
Ingredients
3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2–3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 cup shredded Jack cheese
½ cup heavy cream
2 tbsp unsalted butter
½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
Salt & pepper, to taste
½ tsp paprika
Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp butter and sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over each piece, and sprinkle with shredded Jack cheese.
Cover and cook for another 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, or veggies.
Notes
Pound thick chicken breasts slightly for even cooking.
Add more broth if sauce thickens too much.
Mozzarella or provolone can be used if Jack cheese isn’t available.
Great with mashed potatoes or crusty bread for soaking up that creamy sauce!
