Description

This Spicy Ginger Chicken Recipe brings together juicy chicken, bold ginger, savory garlic, and a sweet-heat glaze for a fast and flavor-packed dinner. Perfect for busy weeknights or whenever you’re craving a kick of spice with a sticky, saucy finish!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts (thighs preferred for juiciness)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, finely grated

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 12 tablespoons chili paste (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken:
In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, chili paste, garlic, and ginger. Add chicken pieces and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Sear the Chicken:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.

  3. Add Sauce:
Lower the heat and pour any leftover marinade into the pan. Stir and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened and glossy.

  4. Garnish & Serve:
Transfer chicken to a plate, sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

For less heat, use only 1 tablespoon of chili paste or substitute with sweet chili sauce.
Fresh ginger is key—avoid powdered if you want that bright zing.
This dish reheats beautifully and makes excellent leftovers.
Double the marinade if you like extra sauce for drizzling!
