Description

These Spaghetti Garlic Bread Bowls are the ultimate comfort food mashup—cheesy baked spaghetti tucked into buttery garlic bread rolls. Perfect for family dinners, parties, or cozy nights in!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Spaghetti Sauce:

  • Olive oil for cooking

  • 1 medium white onion, finely diced

  • 2 garlic cloves, finely diced

  • 500g ground beef (12% fat)

  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree

  • 80ml red wine

  • 500g tomato passata

  • 240ml beef stock

  • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ bunch fresh basil, chopped

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

  • ½ teaspoon sugar

  • 20g freshly grated parmesan

  • 200g spaghetti

For the Garlic Bread Bowls:

  • 6 crusty white rolls

  • 100g butter, melted

  • 30g parmesan, finely grated

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves, mashed into paste

  • 200g shredded mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Cook onion until golden, then stir in garlic.

  2. Add ground beef and brown. Stir in tomato puree.

  3. Pour in wine and cook until reduced. Add passata, stock, Worcestershire, basil, oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer 25 minutes until thickened. Stir in parmesan.

  4. Cut tops off rolls and hollow out the centers. Mix butter, garlic paste, parsley, and parmesan. Brush inside and outside of rolls.

  5. Cook spaghetti until al dente. Toss directly into sauce.

  6. Fill rolls with spaghetti mixture and top with mozzarella.

  7. Bake at 350°F for 8–10 minutes until bread is crisp and cheese is melted. Optional: broil briefly for golden tops.

Notes

Use sturdy crusty rolls so they hold up to the sauce.
No wine? Swap with extra beef stock plus a splash of balsamic vinegar.
Sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight for even deeper flavor.
