Description
Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Brisket turns simple ingredients into a tender, smoky-sweet masterpiece. Perfect for busy nights, gatherings, or delicious leftovers!
Ingredients
-
2 to 3 pounds beef brisket
-
1 Tablespoon dried thyme leaves
-
1 Tablespoon paprika
-
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
-
2 teaspoons salt
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon ground cumin
-
1 cup water
-
1 ½ teaspoons liquid smoke flavoring
-
3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
-
1 bottle (18 ounces) barbecue sauce
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, combine thyme, paprika, black pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and cumin. Rub this spice mix all over the brisket.
-
Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of a 7-quart slow cooker. Place the seasoned brisket inside.
-
Pour liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce over the brisket.
-
Cover and cook on Low heat for 8 to 10 hours until the brisket is very tender.
-
Carefully remove the brisket to a platter. Skim off and discard any fat from the bottom of the brisket. Shred the brisket using two forks.
-
Return the shredded brisket to the slow cooker and pour in the barbecue sauce. Stir gently to coat.
-
Cover and cook on Low for an additional 30 minutes until heated through.
-
Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For extra smoky flavor, add a few more drops of liquid smoke, but go lightly—this stuff is potent!
Great for sandwiches, tacos, or over mashed potatoes.
Leftovers taste even better the next day.
