Description

Seasoned Crispy Chicken Drumsticks baked in the oven for the perfect crunch—crispy skin, juicy meat, and bold flavor with simple spices.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pasture-raised chicken drumsticks (about 1012 pieces)

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked, if available)

  • ½ tsp ground black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 420°F (215°C).

  2. Pat drumsticks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  3. Place drumsticks in a large bowl. Make sure skin covers the meat and isn’t folded.

  4. Toss with olive oil, then add all seasonings. Mix well until evenly coated.

  5. Place a wire rack on top of a baking sheet and spray lightly with oil.

  6. Arrange drumsticks on the rack in a single layer.

  7. Bake for 35 minutes. Remove, flip each drumstick, and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

  8. Drumsticks are done when golden, crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  9. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crispy skin, broil drumsticks for 2–3 minutes at the end (keep a close eye to avoid burning).
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F to crisp them back up.
Swap chili powder for onion powder if making it more kid-friendly.
