Description

Santa’s Favorite Christmas Cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with festive red and green M&M’s, white chocolate chips, chocolate chips, and crushed peppermint. These bakery-style cookies are perfect for Christmas Eve, holiday parties, and making sweet memories with family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ¾ cup white chocolate chips

  • ¾ cup red and green holiday M&M’s

  • ¼ cup holiday red and green sprinkles (jimmies)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for about 2 minutes until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.

  4. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix just until combined.

  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, M&M’s, and holiday sprinkles.

  6. Scoop the dough using a 2-tablespoon cookie scoop and place dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.

  7. Bake for 11–13 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are soft.

  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
Do not overbake; cookies will continue to set as they cool.
These cookies freeze well baked or as raw dough balls.
Swap almond extract for vanilla for a festive flavor twist.
