Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

½ cup basil pesto

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.

Arrange the chicken in a baking dish in a single layer.

Spread basil pesto evenly over each chicken breast.

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the pesto-coated chicken.

Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
If your chicken breasts are thick, slice them in half lengthwise for even cooking.
Add cherry tomatoes or a sprinkle of Parmesan for extra flavor if desired.
