Description

Sweet, spicy, and full of bold flavor, these Hot Honey Baked Chicken Breasts are oven-roasted to juicy perfection and smothered in a homemade hot honey glaze. Perfect for busy weeknights or an impressive weekend dinner, this easy recipe delivers big taste with minimal effort

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 34 organic chicken breasts

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 tbsp On Everything All-Purpose Blend (or similar herb blend)

For the Hot Honey Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ cup organic raw honey (or use Mike’s Hot Honey)

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp chili powder

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes

  • ¼ tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep & Season Chicken:
Rinse and pat dry chicken breasts. In a large bowl, toss chicken with olive oil, salt, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, and seasoning blend until fully coated.

  2. Create Slits:
On a clean board, cut shallow slits across each breast, about 1 inch apart. This helps the sauce penetrate better.

  3. Marinate (Optional):
For best flavor, marinate chicken in a zip-top bag for at least 3 hours or overnight. Let it sit at room temp for 15–20 minutes before baking.

  4. Make Hot Honey Sauce:
In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes. Stir in honey and spices. Simmer until thickened. Remove from heat.

  5. Bake the Chicken:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment or use a skillet. Arrange chicken breasts and spoon half the sauce on top.

  6. Roast:
Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden and cooked through (165°F internal temp).

  7. Finish & Serve:
Let rest 5 minutes. Spoon remaining sauce on top and serve with rice, salad, or your favorite side.

Notes

Adjust heat by increasing or decreasing the cayenne and red pepper flakes.
Use chicken thighs if preferred; just adjust cooking time.
Leftovers keep well for 2–3 days and are great in wraps or sandwiches.
Sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.
