Description

This Hot Chocolate Peppermint Fudge is rich, creamy, and loaded with marshmallows, melted chocolate, and peppermint crunch. A festive holiday treat that’s easy to make and guaranteed to impress at parties, potlucks, or cozy nights at home.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)

  • 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

  • 4 packets hot chocolate mix (1/2 cup)

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 4 cups mini marshmallows (divided)

  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies


Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment or foil and lightly spray with cooking spray.

  2. In a double boiler, combine 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, all milk chocolate chips, butter, sweetened condensed milk, and hot chocolate mix.

  3. Stir over medium heat until the mixture melts and becomes smooth.

  4. Add 2 cups of marshmallows and stir for 1 minute to soften.

  5. Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla.

  6. Transfer the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

  7. Press the remaining 2 cups of marshmallows onto the top of the fudge.

  8. Refrigerate for 4 hours or until firm.

  9. Slice into squares.

  10. Melt the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second increments until smooth.

  11. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the fudge and sprinkle crushed peppermint on top.

  12. Allow the drizzle to set before serving.

Notes

For extra peppermint flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract to the melted chocolate mixture.
Store fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
This recipe freezes well — freeze pieces individually for up to 3 months.
Use fresh marshmallows for best texture.
