Ingredients
1 lb. boneless steak (sirloin or fillet), cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Sauce:
1 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
1 ½ tablespoons teriyaki sauce or mirin
Pepper, to taste
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce (or mirin), and pepper. Set aside.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Toss in the steak bites and stir well to coat them in garlic butter.
Pour the sauce mixture over the steak and continue to stir-fry for about 5 minutes, until the steak is seared and the sauce thickens slightly.
Drizzle with sesame oil if desired and serve hot with hibachi rice, vegetables, or noodles.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the steak in the sauce for 15–30 minutes before cooking.
Works great with leftover fried rice or quick stir-fried veggies.
Want it spicy? Add a pinch of chili flakes or a few drops of sriracha.
