Description

This Ground Beef Hot Honey Bowl is a fast, cozy dinner made with saucy sweet-and-spicy ground beef tossed with fluffy rice and finished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 3 cups cooked rice (white or jasmine)

  • 1/4 cup hot honey

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • 2 green onions, sliced (garnish)

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until the onion turns translucent, about 3–4 minutes.

  2. Add ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned and no pink remains, 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

  3. Stir in hot honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Simmer 2–3 minutes, stirring, until slightly thickened.

  4. Add cooked rice to the skillet and stir until fully coated. Cook 2 minutes, until warmed through.

  5. Serve in bowls and top with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a milder bowl, use less hot honey or mix it half-and-half with regular honey.

Leftovers reheat best with a splash of water to loosen the sauce.

Add quick veggies like shredded carrots, spinach, or frozen peas during the final 2–3 minutes.
