Description
This Ground Beef Hot Honey Bowl is a fast, cozy dinner made with saucy sweet-and-spicy ground beef tossed with fluffy rice and finished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Ingredients
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 lb ground beef
-
3 cups cooked rice (white or jasmine)
-
1/4 cup hot honey
-
3 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
-
1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
-
2 green onions, sliced (garnish)
-
1 tbsp sesame seeds (garnish)
Instructions
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until the onion turns translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
-
Add ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned and no pink remains, 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
-
Stir in hot honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Simmer 2–3 minutes, stirring, until slightly thickened.
-
Add cooked rice to the skillet and stir until fully coated. Cook 2 minutes, until warmed through.
-
Serve in bowls and top with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
For a milder bowl, use less hot honey or mix it half-and-half with regular honey.
Leftovers reheat best with a splash of water to loosen the sauce.
Add quick veggies like shredded carrots, spinach, or frozen peas during the final 2–3 minutes.
