Description

These Greek Nachos are a fun Mediterranean twist on classic nachos, featuring crispy pita chips, seasoned ground lamb or beef, fresh veggies, and creamy feta tzatziki sauce. Perfect for parties, game nights, or a quick family dinner!

Ingredients

Scale

Lamb/Beef Sauté

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 red onion, diced (about 2/3 cup)

  • 1/3 cup pitted kalamata olives, minced

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

Feta Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 (5.3 oz) container fat-free Greek yogurt

  • 4 oz crumbled feta cheese

  • 2 tbsp red onion, chopped

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup chopped mint

  • 1 tsp dried dill

Toppings

  • 3/4 cup Persian cucumber, seeded and diced

  • 3/4 cup fresh tomato, seeded and diced

  • A few tbsp red onion, chopped

  • Freshly ground pepper

  • Fresh mint

  • 8 oz pita chips (store-bought or homemade)

Optional Homemade Pita Chips

  • 6 pitas, cut into 6 wedges each

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt or garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Make the pita chips (optional): Preheat oven to 425°F. Arrange pita wedges on a sheet pan and bake 5–10 minutes until golden and crispy, flipping any that brown too quickly.

  2. Cook the meat: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook 5 minutes until softened. Add garlic, meat, and cumin. Stir until browned, then mix in minced olives. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Prepare tzatziki: In a bowl, mash feta with yogurt. Mix in onion, olive oil, lemon juice, mint, and dill until creamy.

  4. Assemble nachos: On a serving dish, layer pita chips, then meat, dollops of tzatziki, and fresh toppings. Serve immediately while crisp.

Notes

Prep the meat and tzatziki ahead of time for easy assembly before serving.
Swap lamb or beef for ground turkey or chicken to lighten it up.
Add red pepper flakes or cayenne for a spicier kick.
