- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil. Add the onions, sugar, and balsamic vinegar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for another minute.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth, stirring continuously. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and thyme. Place them in a baking dish.
- Pour the onion and sauce mixture over the chicken.
- Top with shredded Gruyère cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
