Ingredients
For the Chicken:
1 pound chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons cornstarch
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons green onion, chopped (for garnish)
For the Sauce:
1/4 cup sriracha
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch until fully coated.Make the Sauce
In a separate bowl, whisk together sriracha, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and water. Set aside.Cook the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.Simmer the Sauce
In the same skillet, pour in the sauce and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.Combine
Return the cooked chicken to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce thoroughly.Serve
Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot over rice or your favorite base.
Notes
You can adjust the spice by reducing the sriracha and red pepper flakes.
Chicken thighs can be used for extra juiciness.
