Easy Pepper Jack Crack Chicken is a creamy, cheesy, bacon-loaded comfort food recipe that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Made in the slow cooker or stovetop, it’s full of bold flavor with a hint of spice, and always a family favorite!
Ingredients
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 oz)
½ cup cooked bacon, crumbled (about 6 slices)
½ cup chicken broth (optional, for slow cooker)
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Slow Cooker Method:
Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
Sprinkle with ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
Add chicken broth if using.
Dollop cream cheese over the chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours.
Remove chicken, shred with forks, return to slow cooker.
Stir in the cream cheese mixture.
Add pepper jack cheese and bacon. Stir until melted.
Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
Stovetop Method:
Cook chicken in a skillet over medium heat for 6–7 minutes per side until fully cooked. Remove and shred.
In the same skillet, melt the cream cheese with ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
Stir in shredded chicken, pepper jack cheese, and bacon.
Mix until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
Garnish with green onions and serve.
Notes
Want to save time? Use shredded rotisserie chicken.
Add jalapeños for extra heat.
