Description
This Crock Pot Honey Garlic Chicken is tender, juicy, and coated in a sweet-savory garlic sauce. A family-friendly slow cooker dinner that’s easy to make and perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
-
6 skinless, bone-in chicken thighs (or boneless thighs/breasts – reduce cook time slightly)
-
½ cup low-sodium soy sauce (use gluten-free if needed)
-
⅓ cup ketchup
-
⅓ cup honey
-
6 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 tablespoons cornstarch
-
2 tablespoons cold water
-
½ tablespoon sesame seeds
-
1 green onion, sliced
Instructions
-
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, ketchup, honey, and minced garlic.
-
Spray crock pot insert with nonstick spray. Arrange chicken in an even layer.
-
Pour sauce over chicken and toss to coat.
-
Cover and cook on high for 2–3 hours or low for 4–5 hours, until chicken reaches 165°F.
-
Remove chicken and set aside. Whisk cornstarch and cold water together, then stir into sauce in crock pot. Cover and cook for another 15 minutes until thickened.
-
Return chicken to sauce, toss to coat, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve warm.
Notes
For a less salty flavor, add a splash of water or lemon juice at the end.
Serve over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
Boneless chicken will cook faster, so check for doneness earlier.
