Description

This warm and cozy Christmas Chai Latte blends black tea, festive spices, milk, and a touch of sweetness, topped with spiced whipped cream for the perfect holiday drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Chai Latte Base (1 serving):

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)

  • 1 black tea bag or 1 tsp black tea leaves

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • Pinch of ground black pepper

Spiced Whipped Cream:

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1/4 teaspoon reserved spice mix

Instructions

  1. Make the Spice Mix: Combine the cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and black pepper. Reserve 1/4 teaspoon for the whipped cream.

  2. Heat the Chai Base: Add water, black tea, brown sugar, and the remaining spice mix to a saucepan. Heat until it begins to simmer gently.

  3. Steep: Add milk, reduce heat, and steep for 5 minutes.

  4. Strain: Pour through a strainer into a mug to remove spices and tea leaves.

  5. Make Whipped Cream: Whisk the heavy cream, honey, and reserved spice mix until soft peaks form.

  6. Serve: Spoon or pipe whipped cream on top of the latte and sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

Notes

  • Oat milk or almond milk works beautifully for a dairy-free version.

  • For a stronger flavor, steep the tea a bit longer or use extra tea leaves.

  • Add a drizzle of caramel for an even more festive touch.
