Description

Flaky crescent rolls stuffed with creamy chicken filling, baked until golden, and topped with a rich, velvety Parmesan sauce. The ultimate comfort dinner!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Pillows:

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

  • 1 tube (8-count) crescent roll dough

  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs (optional for added crunch)

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

For the Creamy Parmesan Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Make the filling: In a bowl, combine chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, black pepper, and melted butter. Mix until creamy.

  3. Prepare the dough: Unroll crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles. Flatten slightly.

  4. Stuff and seal: Add a spoonful of chicken filling to each triangle. Fold edges and pinch to seal, forming a pillow shape.

  5. Top for crunch: Brush with egg wash and sprinkle panko breadcrumbs, if desired.

  6. Bake: Place on the baking sheet and bake 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

  7. Make sauce: While baking, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk and cream until smooth. Add Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer 3–5 minutes until thickened.

  8. Serve: Drizzle warm sauce over baked chicken pillows and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Shortcut: Use rotisserie chicken for quick prep.
Freezer-friendly: Assemble pillows, freeze, then bake from frozen (add 5–7 minutes).
Sauce swap: Try Alfredo or marinara for variety.
