Ingredients
For the Chicken Pillows:
2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon dried parsley
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tube (8-count) crescent roll dough
½ cup panko breadcrumbs (optional for added crunch)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
For the Creamy Parmesan Sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make the filling: In a bowl, combine chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, black pepper, and melted butter. Mix until creamy.
Prepare the dough: Unroll crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles. Flatten slightly.
Stuff and seal: Add a spoonful of chicken filling to each triangle. Fold edges and pinch to seal, forming a pillow shape.
Top for crunch: Brush with egg wash and sprinkle panko breadcrumbs, if desired.
Bake: Place on the baking sheet and bake 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
Make sauce: While baking, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk and cream until smooth. Add Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer 3–5 minutes until thickened.
Serve: Drizzle warm sauce over baked chicken pillows and garnish with fresh parsley.
