Ingredients
For the Chicken Patties:
- 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional Coating:
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crispiness)
Optional Toppings for Serving:
- Hamburger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and onion slices
- Mayonnaise, ketchup, or your favorite sauce
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken Patties:
In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix to keep the patties tender.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick. If desired, press each patty into panko breadcrumbs for a crispy coating.
Cook in the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil.
Place the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Lightly spray the tops of the patties with oil to enhance crispiness.
Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the patties are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Serve:
- Serve the chicken patties warm on their own, or as burgers with buns, lettuce, tomato, onion, and your favorite sauce. Enjoy!
Notes
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- These patties can be made ahead and frozen. To cook from frozen, increase the air fryer time to 15-17 minutes.
