Description

Tender, juicy Chicken Bulgogi marinated in a sweet-savory blend of soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil, then pan-seared until caramelized and irresistible. A quick, flavor-packed Korean-inspired dinner perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ lbs chicken breast or thighs, boneless and skinless

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar or honey

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp grated ginger

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 3 green onions, chopped

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Optional: ¼ tsp chili flakes

  • Optional garnish: toasted sesame seeds & extra green onions

Instructions

  1. Make the Marinade:
In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar (or honey), minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, green onions, black pepper, and chili flakes until smooth.

  2. Marinate the Chicken:
Slice chicken into thin strips. Add to the marinade and let sit for at least 20 minutes or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.

  3. Cook the Chicken:
Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and caramelized around the edges.

  4. Serve:
Plate the chicken, then top with sesame seeds and more green onions. Serve warm over rice, noodles, or in lettuce wraps.

Notes

  • For extra caramelization, avoid overcrowding the pan.

  • Chicken thighs stay juicier, but breasts work great too.

  • Make it spicy by adding chili flakes or a spoon of gochujang.

  • Leftovers reheat beautifully and make amazing lunch bowls.
