Ingredients
1 pound pizza dough
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup shredded mozzarella
4 tablespoons soft butter (for brushing)
2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped
For the Alfredo Sauce:
5 tablespoons butter
1 cup heavy cream
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup fresh Parmesan, grated
Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional:
Marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
Make the Alfredo sauce:
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Stir in heavy cream and Italian seasoning. Let simmer for 3–4 minutes, then stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.Assemble the calzones:
Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface. Divide into 4 equal pieces. Add a spoonful of Alfredo sauce, shredded chicken, and mozzarella cheese to the center of each. Fold over the dough to form a half-moon and crimp edges with a fork.Air fry:
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Lightly grease the basket and place calzones in, leaving space between. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.Finish:
Brush hot calzones with soft butter and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve with optional marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Shortcut tip: Use rotisserie chicken or leftover grilled chicken for faster prep.
To freeze: Assemble calzones and freeze before air frying. Cook from frozen, adding 3–5 minutes to the cooking time.
No air fryer? Bake at 400°F for 15–18 minutes or until golden.
