This cozy Cheddar Bay Chicken Bake features juicy chicken breasts baked over marinara and topped with a cheesy Red Lobster-style biscuit crust. It’s an easy, one-pan dinner that’s packed with comfort and flavor—perfect for busy weeknights or when you need a dish the whole family will devour.
Ingredients
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or chicken thighs)
1 box Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (preferably freshly grated)
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1 cup marinara sauce (your favorite variety)
1/2 cup melted butter
1 Cheddar Bay Biscuit seasoning packet (included in the box)
Optional: chopped fresh parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Sauté the chicken breasts in a skillet over medium heat for about 8 minutes, or until fully cooked and no longer pink inside.
While the chicken cooks, mix the Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix with water, cheddar cheese, and chopped green onion in a medium bowl until well combined.
Spread marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Place cooked chicken breasts over the marinara.
Spoon the biscuit batter over the chicken, spreading it to cover each piece.
Bake uncovered for 25 minutes or until the biscuit topping is golden and fully cooked.
In a small bowl, combine melted butter with the included seasoning packet. Brush over the hot biscuit topping right after baking.
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra green onions or parsley if desired.
Notes
Prefer chicken thighs? Go for it—they’re extra juicy!
Use freshly grated cheddar for better melt and richer flavor.
Leftovers? Store covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
