Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
1 bell pepper, diced
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 hamburger buns
Optional toppings: sliced pickles, shredded cheese, coleslaw
Instructions
Cook Vegetables: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced bell pepper and onion. Sauté for 3–4 minutes, until softened.
Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Cook Chicken: Add the ground chicken to the skillet. Cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks, until no longer pink.
Make Sauce: Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes to thicken and allow flavors to blend.
Toast Buns: While the filling simmers, toast hamburger buns in a dry skillet or toaster until golden brown.
Assemble: Spoon the chicken mixture onto the bottom bun halves. Add your favorite toppings, then close with the top buns.
