Description

These Brown Sugar Pineapple Wings are sticky, sweet, and irresistibly savory! Glazed with a tropical pineapple sauce and baked to golden perfection, they’re perfect for parties, game day, or an easy weeknight dinner the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 900g chicken wings (drumettes and flats)

  • 120ml pineapple juice (juice, not syrup)

  • 60ml soy sauce (low sodium optional)

  • 55g brown sugar (soft, moist)

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 60ml pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)

  • 8g cornstarch

  • 30ml water

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger until sugar dissolves.

  3. Marinate: Add wings to the bowl and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  4. Arrange and bake: Place wings on the lined baking sheet in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.

  5. Make glaze: While wings bake, whisk cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Pour leftover marinade into a saucepan, add pineapple chunks, and bring to a simmer. Slowly whisk in the slurry and simmer until thickened and glossy.

  6. Toss and serve: Transfer wings to a bowl, pour glaze over, and toss until sticky and coated. Serve immediately.

Notes

Double the glaze for extra saucy goodness—it’s delicious over rice!
Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best flavor.
Air fryer alternative: Cook at 400°F for 20–25 mins, shake halfway.
