Description

These Bang Bang Chicken Sliders are crispy, cheesy, and dripping with creamy bang bang sauce—perfect for parties, game days, or an easy weeknight dinner that’s sure to wow the crowd.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • pounds thin sliced chicken breasts

  • Kosher salt, to taste

  • Fresh black pepper, to taste

  • Garlic powder, to taste

For the Breading:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup cornstarch

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs (more as needed)

  • Vegetable or canola oil for frying

For Assembly:

  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese

  • 12 slider rolls

  • Bang Bang sauce (prepared separately)

  • Optional: shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts on both sides with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour and cornstarch, one with whisked buttermilk, hot sauce, and egg, and the third with panko breadcrumbs.

  3. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, then dip in the buttermilk mixture, and finally coat with panko, pressing to adhere.

  4. Heat a thin layer of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken in batches until golden brown and fully cooked.

  5. Transfer cooked chicken to a paper towel-lined plate. While it drains, prepare your Bang Bang sauce if not already made.

  6. Slice the fried chicken to fit slider buns. Place a piece on each bottom bun, top with mozzarella, drizzle with bang bang sauce, and add shredded lettuce if using.

  7. Close with the top bun and serve while warm for best texture and flavor.

Notes

You can prep the chicken ahead and refrigerate or freeze until ready to fry.
Add shredded lettuce, pickles, or coleslaw for extra crunch.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven for best results.
For a shortcut, use frozen crispy chicken tenders and focus on assembly!
